How We Perform a Gum Graft

Dr. Lindsay Eastman and Dr. Christie may use the pedicle graft technique or use donor material to perform a gingival graft. This procedure is typically performed under local anesthesia in one or more visits, depending upon the number of affected areas, and the recovery time may take about a week. We will provide post-op instructions before your procedure so that you know exactly what to expect and how to take care of your gums after surgery. Patients are usually instructed to take over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medications for a few days after the procedure and to limit their diet to very soft foods to promote the healing process.

Dr. Eastman incorporates the latest techniques in reconstructive periodontics, tissue engineering, dental implants placement and was among the first group of dentists in the U.S. trained in computer guided implant surgery.
