Costs Associated with Dental Implants

If you are considering getting dental implants for one or multiple missing teeth, you can feel assured you are choosing the option that best replicates your natural teeth. Dental implants function similar to teeth because they actually stimulate the bone, preventing deterioration. This provides unparalleled security, stability and function.

We understand dental implant cost is a main concern for many of our patients, and the cost varies greatly from person to person. Without an individualized consultation, providing a specific price is difficult. In addition to the implant surgery and materials itself, there are a number of other factors that can determine the cost of implants. These factors will not apply to everyone, but please keep in mind the following:

  • Bone Grafting – In patients who have experienced a certain amount of bone degeneration, we will need to complete a bone graft. If you have had missing teeth for an extended period of time, you may want to speak with our periodontist about this.
  • Sinus Lifting – Again, this is not for every patient who undergoes a dental implant, but there are some who can greatly benefit from a sinus lift. If the doctor recommends this procedure, bone will be added to the upper jaw, which helps prepare for the implant, and can also reduce pain in the patient.
  • Extractions – If a patient has severely unhealthy teeth that are being replaced, it is possible they will need to be extracted prior to the procedure. Patients with smaller jaws who have dealt with unhealthy crowding may also benefit from an extraction before the implant.
  • Gum Disease Treatment – You cannot have the implant done if there is any periodontal disease present. If Dr. Eastman discovers an active infection, he may recommend LANAP® laser therapy or a deep cleaning to prepare the gums for surgery. Both of these options are minimally-invasive and less painful than traditional treatments.

As you can see, there are some situations that call for more than just the dental implant cost. As your experienced periodontist in Lakewood Ranch, FL, and Bradenton, FL, Dr. Eastman will complete a thorough examination to see if any of these issues are present. If they are, we will work with you to help make your visit affordable. Ensuring the overall health and function of your mouth is imperative, so don’t hesitate to contact us at our West Bradenton office or Lakewood Ranch location to schedule your consultation.
