Bad Breath Culprits

Having bad breath may be more than eating a meal with onions. Halitosis is a serious problem people deal with that causes chronic bad breath. If you experience bad breath regularly, and are embarrassed by speaking to people near you, you should seek dental attention. What is the culprit for your smelly breath? Unfortunately, there are many reasons that can cause the stench. If you seek dental treatment after noticing this reoccurring problem, here are some of the things you may be suffering from.

One of the top candidates for causing stinky breath is oral health. Not keeping up with your oral hygiene causes bad breath for many, because of lingering food particles and bacteria formation. Brushing your tongue is important to helping cure this stink. Along with brushing your tongue, brushing your teeth twice a day along with flossing will help your breath.

Decay is another bad breath culprit. Decay begins with poor oral health as well, but really takes place when the left-over food and debris begin to rot. When this occurs, your mouth and tongue will begin to give off an odor. Again, keeping up with your oral hygiene will help manage your decay.

When you aren’t producing enough saliva, your mouth begins to get stale. Without the proper saliva production, you are dealing with dry mouth. Saliva helps clean your mouth, naturally, washing away food particles. When you do not have proper amounts of saliva forming, bad breath is likely to begin.

If you’re suffering from embarrassing bad breath, contact your doctor. Your dentist and their skilled team will be able to help you with your issue.
